    Hi Jarrod–

I have been trying to find anti-porn blocking filter software for my computer. I’ve found ALL kinds of stuff for PC, bot absolutely nothing for Macintosh OSX (10.5, the latest). Ideally, I’d like something free (if it exists and is reliable). If not, then something I can pay a one time fee for without a monthly charge.

Would you please send me a link to the sites where I may obtain it? Thanks so much!

    For Him,

    Dave Williamson

Yes. Safe Eyes. Also check out t xxxchurch.com. Also http://www.x3watch.com. They have free accountability software (which is what we personally use on our macs). They do have a link to the TOP NOTCH PC and Mac filter (though you do have to pay for it).
Hope that helps… Thanks for asking!

    Bill,
My book doesn’t address homosexual pornography directly. But it does address it in the sense that is sexual sin. Sexual sin–porn, pre-marital sex, adultery, homosexuality, etc.–is dealt with in the book at length. I think you’ll find the book greatly helpful to minister and challenge and bring hope in the midst of homosexual porn and all other sexual sin.

    Hey Jarrod,

I also saw you speak at the youth convention in Indianapolis and i just wanted to let you know how amazing you did. Its great to see our daddy working through people like you. I actually got a chance to thank you and shake your hand and my exact words were ” i know you dont go through everything you talk about but it really seems like you do” it came out all wrong and i just wanted to kind of explain that i meant the way you speak about all of the problems us female teens will face would have made it seem like you have been through them too…keep doing amazing work and touching the lives of teens like me! thanks!!

Porn and other sexual sin will ruin a man’s Christian testimony, mind, relationships, and indeed his whole life. (QUOTE)
Why and in what way does this happen?.
Does the same happen with things like jealousy, envy, covetingexceera? why,why not?.

Hello Jarrod, I read your article in the March 09 AFA Journal, on pornography. I think everything you said is great, but I would like to add something if you don’t mind. You gave a great argument against porn and great tips for avoiding its clutches, but there wasn’t a LOT of advise for getting out of it. You DID give advise, but that’s where I want to add something.
You said that a man should hit the floor every morning in pleas to God to keep you alert to sexual sin and empowered to flee it. That’s where I’m a little cautious. I have found that if I focus on sin (any sin that I want to overcome), I become one with it and it starts to feel that I will NEVER be rid of it. There is a point in repentance where I need to identify with the sin (”Yes, I am guilty of this sin. I have become the perpetrator of this sin”), but then, if I keep my focus on that sin, it is still in my face all the time. All of my meditations are on the sin I’m trying to overcome. Sometimes, prayer becomes fretting out loud. When my prayers sound like that, I stop “praying” and start worshiping.
I have found much greater power, once I have repented of sin and seen how ugly it is in God’s sight, to take my focus OFF of the sin itself, and put all of my focus on God Himself. The power is in abiding in the Vine. When I am getting alone with God and proclaiming my submission to Him, my insufficiency without Him, my entire dependence on Him, and I am praising Him for His glory and goodness, then I find that I have been taken into the Holy of Holies where all burdens fall off and I am free of all sin and guilt. At that point, I can face the day with my heart and mind full of the meditations of Jesus Christ. As I read the Bible, my meditations become scripture all day. Yes, there are practical things to do and they should be done. You’ve outlined them well. But, the real spiritual power, I think, is in that time alone with God where He is filling us with His Spirit. Our focus is taken off of our sin and everything else and put on Him.
And, really, don’t we find ourselves drifting into sin because we haven’t been abiding in the first place?
Please tell me your thoughts on this.
By the way, my husband was never overcome by pornography or lust because he practiced the things you’ve listed and others, and diligently sought the Lord every day of his life. We were very happily married for 28 1/2 years until Jesus called him home.
We had twelve children together (what blessings they are!). My kids have done even better than we did. My adult children have saved their first kiss for their wedding day!

At first I was thinking, okay get out of class and listen to another boring speak about everything I’ve already heard, but your convocation wasn’t like that at all. Yours was great and after talking with some of my friends we’ve come to the conclusion that yours was the best we’ve ever had and you really connected with us! You addressed every topic and made the convocation funny instead of just boring us with one topic. You got across some very good points, Thank You, Jarrod and I hope you come back!

Dear Jarrod thank you for you wonderful book. I could not stop reading. I have had issues with this temptation and still struggle and always will. I am a Christian and love Christ but have stumbled many times. This is a subject that is a curse for most men I feel but in our society and even in our churches is a tough, awkward, and embarrassing thing to discuss. You brought up so many poignant points and I thank you for addressing this must needed subject. You are right about how we are hard wired but it is no excuse to allow are selves to continue down this path hurting our selves and the ones we love.
Again Thank You for this book and God Bless you and you beautiful family.

Hey Jarrod! We just got back from youth camp in Glen Rose, TX and I just wanted to tell you thank you for being there. God makes no mistakes, and He certainly did not when He sent you there. My husband and I are new to youth ministry and have come into a group with little to no direction from a youth pastor who checked out and really just did not have a heart for the kids. We struggle week to week to get in with these kids and we saw them truly be touched by God at camp! We had kids thank us for making them listen because they loved what they heard and were moved by it. We had SIX of our kids rededicate their lives to Christ. I had one girl tell me that He was just changing to her. I asked her what she meant and she said that God was just changing to her and she was seeing Him in a different light. You touched them and touched me. I am so thankful that you were there. We saw changes in our kids and I want you to know that God truly used you in our youth group!
Thank you for your work and God bless!!

We both struggle with masturbation, lust and other issues. Ethan struggled with masturbation and lusting after women by looking at women in magazies and I struggle with lusting after men by looking at Gay magazines. I am a homosexual but I don’t practice it but still looking at men online, in magazines, DVD. I do have lustful thoughts about men. Can my friend Ethan and I meet you in person on any Saturdays. I never met you, never been to your camp/retreat/ etc.. Ethan my Bible Study Partner and I could not afford to order your book online and we don’t have the money to get it. Can you send me 2 free books 13 ways to ruin your life (practical guide for men and boys of all ages) please? We both are tight on budget. I am on Social Security and don’t have a job. You came to Lincoln Middle School today. I loved your speach you made it funny but serouis. The thing that I remember most is you said “If your going to hit a girl don’t, go hit her dad then see what happens.” I also liked how you told stories about other kids and how your speach helped them. It helped me too! It made me feel so much better about myself and what happens in my life! That I should forget about the horrible breaks ups and the wrong choises i make put them on my chin and press on. I loved how you talked about how a guy should treat a girl. And how a girl should treat a guy. I am pretty shure there is guys around here that go to that school that treat girls horrible and your speach helped them learn how to treat a girl. You made me think more about respecting the people around me because I don’t know what their past life was. I have this saying that i made up “Give Love And Peace Then Only Take Thanks In Return” It just made me think so much more about my life and what it can or can’t be. If you want to use my saying you can. I have some other ones if you want to hear them. e-mail me please!

You spoke about respect and I immediately remembered the lyrics from these songs and a pat goes. “Ask yourself what I’ve done to them. I worried about “altar calls” and all things non-Lutheran….not that non-Lutheran is bad….but it would have meant some explaining by me! Anway, what I heard tonight was amazing! Thank you so much for your messages to the kids…..respect for self and others, skillful living…..good good stuff! In my “previous life” I volunteered for an organization that worked to prevent and educate about sexual assault and domestic violence….what you did tonight with those kids….priceless in helping to wipe out that stuff. Thanks so much! The comments from my kids were positive too….can’t wait to really talk about it next week in Confirmation….and hey your message wasn’t bad for me to hear either! After attending your 13 Dec service I was impressed enough to brave the weather — and bring my wife — to the 20 Dec service. We look forward to calling Grace Community our spiritual home. I’d recommend to you a book I’ve read, re-read, and shared with friends; it’s entitled Halftime: Moving From Success to Significance. The author, a successful and driven professional sacrifices family and faith for affluence. He reaches this point in his life — as we all do — where priorities shift and, thankfully he moves into the second half of his life committed to renewing his faith and relationships. He catches a new vision for his life and a passion to multiply all that God has given him, and in the process, to give it back. This book can be a catalyst for purpose, impact, and growth and will be on your list of favorites should you read it. I’m already excited about the Christmas Eve service.

    Jarrod,

I sent you an email at the info@jarrodjones.com, and I just wanted to let you know how much I would appreciate a reply. I know you are very busy, but I was at the Impact conference in Iowa this week, and I shared in the email what God was teaching me through your messages. Thanks!

    Jerrod-
Thanks for coming to the Iowa Impact Conference in Des Moines. You were able to share a message about what it means to honor God as our Lord in a humble yet convicting manner. The students I had in my room were able to discuss issues and plans of action to reach out and minister to others. Thanks so much for your ministry and having an “impact” on my students and me. I will continue to pray for you, your family, and your ministry. It is a huge God blessing to have a life partner also committed your ministry. Don’t forget to thank your wife for all she does and how much she supports you. God Bless

    Todd

    Jarrod -

I received a t-shirt with the title “I’ve got issues” on the front and the back “to God be the glory!”. I went to your website that was listed on the t-shirt in hopes of finding the meaning to the shirt but was unable to locate any background on it. Can you send me information regarding the background to the meaning of the shirt?

Thank you and I look forward to hearing back from you soon.

Thank you so much for speaking at Hikory Grove Babtist church this past weekend. I am truelly inspired to reach my fellow classmates in my school, Harris Road Middle. Quite a few students at my school are addicted to drugs and such, and that wants me to lead the to the Lord all the more.

Hey Jarrod. I’m an 18 year old guy who was at the camp this past week I bought your “13 Ways to Ruin Your Life”, and let me say that I found it to be very very helpful and encouraging in a weird sense.

For example, you drive home to us (guys) in the book that we shouldn’t feel like we deserve something, because if you look at the picture of Christ’s sacrifice and our own sin, we are totally deserving to feel lost and alone, but thanks to God’s amazing grace, He brought us up out of the terrible pit, up from the miry clay. That was encouraging to me, but I don’t really know why. Normal human nature says, “Me,me, me, me.” But after reading how we never have and never will deserve ANYTHING to be about us, I feel encouraged and have an actual heart understanding of Christ’s compassion and sacrifice.

The fact that I struggled with several of the issues in the book and your frankness and knowledge and passion for young and old men to know sexual purity is such a relief.

I’ll leave you with this. In the book, you said that sexual temptaion is so difficult because it comes looking for us. You are so right. Just getting on the internet by itself without looking up porn or anything like that, throws sex into your eyes. You go to read an article on something legit, and you get Victoria’s Secret ads thrown right into your face.

    But…

With God’s love and neverending grace and your many words of wisdom, I am starting to beat this monster.

Thank you so much for your commitment to God’s kingdom, and pray for me as I continue fighting this temptation by fleeing.

    Love, Kyle
